Expedition Leader - James Sawyer
ames Sawyer is an explorer and a committed conservationist with over 20 years of experience in managing terrestrial and marine expeditions and projects in remote and challenging environments in more than 40 countries.
He has undertaken first explorations of tropical forest areas in the Philippines and Madagascar and his teams have found species new to science, rediscovered species unrecorded for decades as well as gaining the first images of species in the wild.
James is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and a Chartered Geographer.
Research Lead - Dr Ross Piper
Dr Ross Piper is a entomologist, zoologist and explorer. He has been involved with expeditions in Brazil, Peru, Trinidad, Namibia, Peninsula Malaysia, Borneo and Myanmar.
As well discovering insect species, Ross is primarily interested in how these animals live and how a greater understanding of their lives can foster innovation that increases our appreciation of and desire to protect nature.
Ross is also a science communicator who writes widely and has worked on several TV projects as a presenter/on-screen expert.
